We are really excited to spend the day with Olga & Chris. Their ceremony will be in the Perennial Gardens with their reception immediately following at the Pond House both in Elizabeth Park. We haven't seen them since autumn when we photographed their engagement session up in Middletown. Check out a few photos from their session below. Our good friend Robert Norman is going to be joining us at this wedding to help us capture their story. Check back early next week for photos from their day. They loved our photos from Dagney & Michael's Wedding as much as we loved photographing them. This is such a HUGE honor to us and we feel so lucky to have been at Dagney & Michael's amazing wedding and that we are able to share it with so many people. Posted by: ROB & KATHLEEN View More: AFTER WEDDING SESSIONS Things have a really interesting way of working out. While photographing Dagney & Michael's incredible Wedding at Oxford Airport two weeks ago I started talking to the hangar manager who helped make their wedding possible. I told him of my obsession with airplanes and with flying. I went on to tell him it was like a dream to be photographing at the airport, after-all the planes made the most incredible backdrops. Kathleen and I even told him that we had our own photographs done (by the super talented Vicki & Erik Souza) at an airport down in Florida in front of a really fun Piper Cub. Bob (the hangar manager) told me that if I like the Oxford Airport than I would lose my mind over some of the planes they have up in hangar in New Milford. He told me that if we ever want to shoot up there than he is only a phone call away. As fate would have it one of our past clients turned friend, Becky called us up and told us that she wants us to do a after wedding session with her husband Jon. (You may remember Becky from the session we photographed just a couple of weeks ago for her wedding planning business, Weddingistas that she runs with her best friend Jenn.) Becky told us that she doesn't have a preference where we photograph them for the session and left that part completely up to us. I immediately called up Bob and we setup a time for first thing on Memorial Day. BECKY & JON It was about 9:15 in the morning when Kathleen and I arrived at the Candlelight Farms Airport in New Milford. We pulled up to a gate and drove down a long dirt road alongside the grass runway. It was so gorgeous as the sun came out past the clouds. We drove past a bunch of small planes parked on the side of the strip. Those planes would of seriously been enough to make us more than happy. We could have photographed alongside the small Cessnas and Piper Cubs all day. As we parked our car and started photographing Becky & Jon, Bob pulled up and brought us to the hangar. He slipped into a small side door in the hangar and within minutes the huge doors on the front and back of the building were opening up reveling the most incredible vintage planes. There were a couple of WWII navy planes, a beautiful bright red biplane and yes even a yellow Piper Cub. In addition to all of the crazy incredible planes, there was also a 1941 motercycle. As I was at Dagney & Michael's Wedding I was once again so excited I was without words. The day was beautiful, the location amazing and Becky and Jon looked incredible. The stage was set for Becky & Jon's After Wedding Session!

The first plane that caught our eye was this beautiful bright yellow WWII Navy Biplane. It was quite a site. I wanted to go flying in it right then and there.

Right by the yellow navy plane was this 1941 motorcycle (the same year as the plane). Jon jumped right on it and we took this photo. It feels very "Benjamin Button" to us. I don't ride a motorcycle but I have to say after seeing this one, I wanted to go take a ride. It was one cool looking bike!

We thought it would be fun for Jon to help Becky up into the navy plane, vintage luggage in hand, which is part of Kathleen's collection!. I also like how the motorcycle is in the frame, it feels to me like they just arrived and are ready to fly away.

So initially we thought that the planes were just going to stay in the hangar. We of course were more than happy to shoot in there but Bob was so incredibly awesome and pulled them out for us. It was perfect since there was such a gorgeous blue sky and we got to take advantage of it!

The top left is my favorite, I like seeing the old U.S.Navy printed on the side of the plane, Im not sure why I guess I just really like the font. :)

Can you say pop of color?! The bright yellow against the blue sky was incredible!!

While I was photographing Becky & Jon from the side Kathleen was photographing them from the front...

...and here is Kathleen's AWESOME shot!! Don't they look amazing?!

After we spent some with the yellow plane we went over to the red plane. This plane was so super cool and of course the vintage luggage just had to make another appearance.

Becky had shoes that matched every plane, how much fun is that!

This one is one of my personal favorites from their session. I just love the feel of it. This one is my view...

...and this is Kathleen's view from a moment later.

We love the look on Becky's face in this one.

We brought one of our old Polaroids just for fun. We thought it might add to the feel of the shoot. Jon took the camera and we captured these really fun shots. This one is Kathleen's view... (which is also one of my favorites)

...and this one is my view. I really like seeing the whole plane and Jon's stance is right on!

Becky & Jon are so sweet in this photo, we really love it!

As we walked out of the hangar we saw a yellow Piper Cub (just like the one we had our photo session with) getting ready to land. We ran out into the middle of the field and captured this shot of Jon dipping Becky as the plane landed behind them.

We didn't want to photograph too much around the Piper Cub because Vicki & Erik really rocked it on our shoot but we just had to take a few after it landed. Plus the overgrown grass around the plane really made me happy!! The portrait of Becky on the left is my favorite of this set although I really like them all.

Becky & Jon love Volleyball, in-fact that is how they met so we had to incorporate volleyball into this session. We have a ton of photos of them playing in front of the planes but way too many to post! :)

We finished their session right where we started, in front of the yellow biplane.

This shot was actually Becky & Jon's idea, they wanted a photo through the wings and we were happy to shoot it! Becky & Jon, thank you for indulging us and letting us photograph your after wedding session with all of these super-cool planes. Posted by: ROB & KATHLEEN View More: ENGAGEMENTS He had the ring, he just needed the perfect place to ask her. Since he was in Boston and she was in Connecticut, time together was valuable. He needed a place in the middle - somewhere romantic, where they could walk and talk together and he could ask her the biggest question of their relationship. He picked the orchard because it was kind of in the middle and seemed to have the feel he was searching for. He suggested they go peach picking and she thought nothing of it. They laughed and talked as they always do, while they walked up and down the tree-lined paths of the orchard grounds. "Why don't you pick from that tree?" he suggested, pointing to one nearby. Again, she thought nothing of it and walked over to pick a peach or two from the tree. She didn't see it at first. She grabbed a peach, put in the bucket and then looked back up at the branch. Something seemed out of place. Then she saw it - a box sitting on one of the branches. She smiled and picked it up. She turned around and he asked her to be his wife. JENNY & KRISTOFER We returned to the scene of the engagement last week with Jenny & Kris, Lyman Orchards in Middlefield. It is such a beautiful location and now even more special to the two of them. We even found the tree where he hid the ring and Jenny couldn't stop smiling. When these two look at each other they are constantly grinning at one another, they are just so happy. And every few minutes, Kris will make Jenny laugh - which makes everyone else laugh because they're excitement is completely contagious.

It has certainly been a weird weather season here in CT, it is usually much sunnier this time of year. It's OK though because the clouds overhead gave some great textures and nice lighting to work with as we started Jenny & Kris' Engagement Session.

It has been a very long time since I have been to Lyman Orchards and this was Kathleen's first time. I forgot how gorgeous it was there.

We had a very relaxed session just walking through the rows and rows of orchards. This was right by the exact place that Jenny & Kris got engaged!

The country roadways going through the orchard combined with the cloudy day kind of reminded us of the small roads through the countryside of Ireland.

As Jenny & Kris were walking up the road, they leaned into each other for a kiss. I love all of the simple pops of color in this photo!

This is one of my favorite images from the day, the simplicity and the feeling of it really makes me happy. This one is my view...

...and this is Kathleen's view of the same moment.

The strawberry fields gave us a nice opportunity for a great perspective shot.

I couldn't decide which one I liked better so here is a similar photo from before just a little closer and in black and white.

Jenny & Kris' smiles are so wonderful, every time they smiled we couldn't help but to smile ourselves.

After a quick outfit change to get a little bit of a different look, we headed down to this small pond in the middle of one of the fields.

I really love this one, the reflections, the tree and even the clouds were so beautiful.

Jenny and Kris have such a nice way of communicating with each other without saying a word. He looks at her, she laughs, his face lights right up... at that moment there doesn't seem to be any problems in the world, it is wonderful!

Jenny & Kris took a seat on the ground for a nice and simple relaxed portrait.

After spending some time by the pond we found an old farm building to shoot against.

Seriously every time that they looked at each other, Jenny could not stop smiling!

Right by the farm building we found a tractor on the hill with the orchards behind which acted as such a perfect backdrop.

To finish their session we headed down to the golf course which is also on the Lyman Orchards property. There were so many little places to photograph that we could have stayed there all day.

Jenny & Kris, we had such a nice time with you and can't wait until your wedding in July. Thank you for bringing us to the place you got engaged, we really enjoyed getting to know you better! ~Rob & Kathleen~
