Greenwich Village, NYC: Amanda & Jason's Engagement Session
If it wasn’t for Jason’s colleague, he may have never met Amanda. She happened to know Amanda from graduate school and thought that Amanda and Jason might be a good match for each other - so she set them up on a blind date. They met for drinks, neither of them knowing what exactly to expect. Jason had seen a picture of Amanda in advance, so he knew she was going to be gorgeous. And when she walked in, he saw that the picture hadn’t even done justice to the beautiful woman walking toward him. As they got to talking, he found that she was funny and smart and they had a lot in common. Amanda was very pleasantly surprised as well - and even more so when she discovered that not only was Jason handsome but he was also thoughtful and kind with a quite wit that she instantly appreciated.
Jason had made a mental note of a restaurant he had been saving for just the right date. This wasn’t the type of place he would take just anyone to - it had to be someone special. It only took that blind date with Amanda for him to know that someone. That official first date ended up being so wonderful, that it was, in fact, the very last first date either of them would ever have to go on. They fell hard for one another pretty quickly and soon they couldn’t imagine life without one another.
When they got their first apartment together Jason knew it was the perfect time to propose. With all the packing and unpacking, Amanda would never see it coming. So he told her he had plans for the evening, knowing that she would return home to their new place and expect it to be empty. But, instead, she walked into the room to find all of her favorite things - her favorite food, candy, the menu from the restaurant where they went on their first date - and Jason, all dressed up in a suit and down on one knee asking her to be his wife. Answering him was perhaps the easiest thing she has ever done. While the smartest thing they each did was to go on that blind date in the first place.
